Courtney's Class Dives into Finding Nemo!

This term, Courtney's Class has taken an exciting deep dive into the world of Finding Nemo! From exploring sensory stories to moving like our scaly friends in PE, we’ve truly immersed ourselves in the underwater adventure.

We began our journey by experiencing Finding Nemo through sensory storytelling—feeling the slippery texture of fish scales, listening to the sounds of the ocean, and imagining what it would be like to swim through the Great Barrier Reef. Our classroom transformed into an underwater wonderland as we described the sights, sounds, and sensations of Nemo’s journey.

In PE, we’ve been putting ourselves in the fins of our favorite characters, gliding like graceful stingrays, darting like quick clownfish, and even trying out some jellyfish-inspired movements. It’s been a fantastic way to combine storytelling with physical activity!

Now, as we follow Nemo’s adventure across the ocean, we’ve been working on our own instructional writing—mapping out the journey to Sydney! Step by step, we’re thinking about what Marlin and Dory would need to do to reach their destination. Should they follow the East Australian Current? Watch out for hungry seagulls? We’re using our best descriptive and instructional writing skills to create clear, engaging guides.
